While preparing for a 3 1/2 hour flight to Mexico a few years ago, I decided to make Bee a quiet book. My hope was that it would keep her quiet for the 3 1/2 hour flight. In hindsight, I should have known that keeping a 15 month old quiet for 3 1/2 hours on a plane with no ability to move was not going to happen. But, she did enjoy the books as did I. I will admit, they do
take a lot of time and some parts are tedious but it is well worth it.
I found some cute ideas online, Googled some pictures but struck gold when I stumbled upon The Quiet Book Blog. Jocelyn has so many cute and easy templates to use. I also made up a few of my own and altered some from pictures I found on Google. I went out and purchased a fair bit of felt, some buttons, ribbons and other various items I knew I would need. Though I still need to permanently bind them, the clips work great for now.
We pack these whenever we have to go someplace that may have a wait, they are also fantastic for car rides. The best part is, Bee has not become bored with them, even after 3 years. Through each age, there is always something new she can do. If you are crafty and have some "free time", whip some of these up for your babes. They've come in handy on many occasions for us. Happy felting!
